We plan to become a single point contact for Solutions involving Renewable options for power. We enhance and synergize with research and development companies around the World to apply techniques which help in milking alternative power uses at an affordable cost.

THE ETINPOWER BUSINESS MODEL

To grow electricity access to off-grid and chronically underserved communities in Nigeria through a scalable hybrid model using solar mini grids, and that:

• Is in alignment with the critical imperatives of sustainable energy for all, and the global transition to a low carbon economy.
• Leaves no one behind in the communities being serviced, and ensures connections for the most vulnerable, verifiable by clearly prescribed parameters.
• Provides at least Tier Three electricity- lights, phone charging points, television, an engine and 12 hours/ day of electricity with an average daily capacity of at least 1 kw/ day/ 365 kwh per day.
• Is based on a cost reflective tariff that will give profits in the short to medium term.
• Provides clean cooking fuels and stoves.
• Incorporates the provision of appropriate appliances that will increase productivity and earnings in the community; and
• Ultimately creates an ecosystem that raises standards of living and promotes sustainable development.

THE SECOND BUSINESS MODEL: SELLING PRODUCTIVE USE EQUIPMENT

Etinpower’s philosophy is that as light dispels darkness, so electricity brings in unmeasurable opportunities for sustainable development and increased livelihoods. We stimulate this through the sale of electrical appliances, and through enabling and stimulating community dwellers through training programs and empowerment initiatives.

As some of the residents had never had electricity in their homes, so we had to organize wiring packages, and sell light bulbs to them. Then they bought fans, and are now buying TVs, DVDs, pressing irons, and other electrical apliances that make life easier and better. In addition, we actively engage in conversations with our customers, guiding them on how to leverage these tools to improve their businesses. Our goal is to continue to enlighten them on ways they can harness the power of clean energy for continued economic growth and development. As a next step, we hope to organize them into groups that will utilize machines to improve their crops and farming yields.

Ajakurama is already very familiar with electrical appliances, and the average house had a generator, prior to EtinPower’s advent. Our concentration in that small town, is replacing their use of generators with our solar energy, as it is cleaner and more cost effective.
